  • PHD Cancer Biology Personal Purpose Statement

I hope to earn a Ph.D. Degree in Cancer Biology from the Interdisciplinary Life Science Department at XXXX University, my first choice for graduate study. I crave your XXXX's rigor and focus in the areas where I seek the most significant expertise. I especially appreciate the ground-breaking research opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration and international learning in the battle against cancer at XXXX. I admire, and it would be a great honor to study under professors like Drs. XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, and Andrea XXXX– whose areas of research interest and specialization precisely represent those areas to which I also feel called. I seek the fullest possible immersion experience in identifying, characterizing, and validating disease-specific targets in cancer, utilizing various approaches: biochemical, structural, molecular, cellular, imaging, chemical, genomic, and proteomic approaches. I’m particularly interested in identifying novel anticancer drug targets by determining cell signaling dysfunctionalities in tumor development. I would be incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve as a research or teaching assistant, as this would help to advance towards my career goals. My professional experience working as a Regulatory Affairs Associate (RA) at XXXX Biomet and Quality Control and as a Scientist at Catalent Pharmaceuticals will help me hit the ground running in your program and distinguish me for excellence as a student. As a result of extensive writing and reviewing product labeling and technical documentation, history files, analytical, validation, and stability protocols, and drafting analytical reports: I have developed advanced critical thinking, writing, and communicating skills with great attention to detail. Working with various departments, including quality control, product development, and our manufacturing team has helped me cultivate excellent interpersonal skills and team spirit. Having earned my BS in Biochemistry from Al-Hikmah University in my native Nigeria and a master's degree in biomedical engineering from the University of XXXX in Connecticut, USA, I have developed a solid academic foundation in the foundations of bio-systems operating at both cellular and molecular levels. I have understood the processes involved in biochemical changes related to the root causes of disease. Tissue engineering, biomedical materials, bioelectronics, and polymer nanocomposite have been the focus of my education so far, consistently working to enhance my understanding of the most promising avenues of inquiry that present themselves, always with an eye on strengthening and preserving the quality of our lives. I find nothing near as exciting as the prospect of targeting cancer cells and making that targeting as refined and fast as possible. Thus, I seek the possible understanding of the biomolecular and signaling pathways and processes involved in cancer cell proliferation, metabolism, survival, and movement . Among my modest achievements so far, I am incredibly proud of having authored a comprehensive review article on ovarian cancer risk factors and their mechanism of action, primarily since it was published in the European Journal of Engineering Research & Science (EJERS) in 2019. Thank you for considering my application. PHD Cancer Biology Personal Purpose Statement #cancer #biology #phd #personalstatement #purpose #service #professional #edit #samples

  • SLP Speech and Language Therapist Personal Purpose

As a Haitian American woman born and raised in New York City, I could not feel more at home and alive in the city I love, especially the diversity. To be a Black woman from an immigrant community living in NYC these days can be thrilling. One senses history flashing before one´s eyes at the sight of murals on huge avenues stretching an entire block saying, ¨Black Lives Matter¨. The diversity in NYC is remarkable and, thankfully, appreciated. For a long time, populations of color in the city have been growing, and communication among and by people of color has never been more critical than today. Thus, I feel called and privileged to have set my sights on a career as a Speech and Language Therapist so that no one is left behind. I want to become an SLP to spend my life empowering children, especially those little ones of color, from homes of scarce resources who have many of the odds stacked against them. Becoming an SLP would mean that I could directly affect children’s lives in the most positive ways. I have always been passionate about working with children and keenly look forward to decades to provide direct service to students through treatment accompanied by culturally responsive support for families. I plan to continue engaging in diversity awareness activities related to our field. I appreciate how the NYC public school system comprises various races, religions, and cultures. Nevertheless, our school system is the largest and most segregated public school system in the country, raising fair representation issues. I want to advocate creating more culturally responsible cultures in educational and community health initiatives. I have extensive experience working with students in a non-traditional school setting and have put a lot of effort into cultivating relationships of trust with students and their families. As an after-school director, I have worked with students, families, teachers, SLPs, OTs, guidance counselors, social workers, and other notable people who support our most vulnerable students. Serving as part of a comprehensive team, I’ve been able to spearhead a new, dynamic, family-centered approach to family engagement implemented across multiple sites, focusing on early intervention and early childhood communication; the SLPs inspire me. I hope to devote my professional life to early intervention diagnosis and treatment and early childhood therapy; giving students the tools to express and advocate for themselves is our aim, working as a team to enhance their experience in school and life. I strongly desire to help young elementary students because I know their experiences during the first couple of school strongly impact their love of learning. My ideal position would be to support the 3K and UPK programs within the DOE as a continued early intervention specialist. I am providing family-centered support for children with speech disorders up to 8, which I see as the most critical age group, and hope to continue serving. I’ve run after-school and camp programs for elementary-aged students for a long time, and I’ve seen students drift by without the proper support. I have dealt with families who are not responsive to their child's need for additional support as recommended by the school. It troubles me how a lack of support so often hinders a student’s development and subsequent success in school. I find nothing as exciting as the prospect of spending my professional life providing family-centered treatment as an SLP. Thank you for considering my application. • PHD Public Policy Finance and Economics Personal Purpose

The University of XXXX is my first choice among Ph.D. programs in Public Policy for several reasons, most of all the sheer excellence and stellar reputation of the program and the university. I see UXX as the ideal atmosphere for me considering my intellectual interests and how I thrive on celebrating diversity and interdisciplinary analysis. I look forward to decades to come with the total engagement possible with social policy questions involving issues of equality and entrepreneurship. Earning my Ph.D. at an incredibly comprehensive and rigorous program such as UNC will help broaden and enrich my research expectations and a general understanding of modern policy problems. The College of Arts and Sciences Public Policy Program faculty are engaged in areas of research interest that dovetail nicely with my interests. In the College of Arts and Sciences Public Policy Program faculty, I have read various research papers by faculty members, including Assistant Professor XXXX, Distinguished Professor XXXX, and others. I find their innovative research and dedication to the field inspiring and encouraging. Public Policy rests upon many pillars and depends upon many disciplines to elucidate its mysteries and direct its course. Finance and Economics are critically crucial to Public Policy, and I know these areas best, having earned a Master´s Degree in both fields. Throughout the last few years, my desire to contribute to progressive social change to improve our society has grown, intensifying. I hope to make my mark with sound and creative ideas for economic development in the public interest. I want to make a prolonged and extremely critical examination of discrimination - based on gender, socioeconomic status, and ethnicity and how it impacts the well-being of those affected. I look forward to exploring the complex relationships between citizenship, national identity, and equality. With my academic background in Finance and Economics, I have discovered that the issue of inequality has become a focus of great discontent with the way that global policies better favor some nations more than others, resulting in significant disparities between rich and developing countries. In partial fulfillment for a Master of Arts in Economics, I conducted extensive research on poverty and gender in Africa, resulting in a thesis entitled Economic tools used to fight Poverty and Gender inequality in Sub-Saharan Africa. This thesis helped me further identify various policy factors responsible for economic and social disparities in this region. Through my research, I discovered tools that may be used to fight the scourge of discrimination, such as creating transcontinental or interregional frameworks. If we can find better ways to improve overall global policies, we may find better solutions for some of our inequality problems at home, especially in economics. We might also be able to identify policies that enhance entrepreneurship, therefore creating a platform for a higher employment rate. I hope to spend decades assiduously searching for solutions to challenges or impediments to enacting more progressive global policies that would better address inequality, poverty, and unemployment, leading to greater justice and fairness. A proactive individual, I am determined to put in as much effort as necessary to contribute my share to making society a better place. I hope to consider how improved social programs can enhance public financing and alleviate territorial disparities in my research. I hold a bachelor's degree in business administration with a concentration in International Business and a master's in economics. I have experience as a graduate assistant at XXXX University in Tennessee and The Center for Regional Development in XXXX. I am highly dedicated to public service and societal welfare; because of these factors, I am an excellent fit for this program. I am confident that my earnest academic and research aspirations will become a reality with your kind consideration of my admission into this program. I expect that you will find in me a person who gives his best in all challenging environments, utilizing my knowledge, skills, and resources for the mutual betterment of society. Thank you for considering my application. PHD Public Policy Finance and Economics Personal Purpose #phd #publicpolicy #personalstatement #purpose #writing #editing #service #application #help

  • Letter of Recommendation from Mentor, Ophthalmology

To Whom It May Concern, My name is Dr. ____ M.D., Ph.D. I am an ophthalmologist with my clinic practicing in ____ City, ____, Japan, since 2013. It brings me joy to recommend my friend, colleague, and someone I have taken considerable pride in mentoring in Ophthalmology, Dr. ____, to a fellowship position in our field with a particular focus on cataracts, Glaucoma, Retina, pediatrics, Ophthalmology, and Ophthalmic Pathology. Before giving my all to my clinic, I also served as a (2008-2011) Associate Professor at the Graduate School of Medicine of ____ University, senior head physician of the Ophthalmology ward, and the head of our Glaucoma Team at ____ University Hospital. I had an opportunity to get to know Dr. ____ ____ quite well over seven years, from 2004 through 2011 when I was supervising doctor at XXXX University Hospital. ____ served with us first as a resident and later as a resident fellow. XXXX was incredibly talented as an assistant at my glaucoma surgeries, and he learned a great deal about our current state of advanced surgery on the eye over the time he was with us. Since then, he has continued to work alongside me as much as his circumstances allow. Dr. ____ has lived in the US since 2013; however, every year, he has returned to Japan to help with the patients in my practice for two months during the summer, seeing outpatients and assisting me with surgeries. He is the fastest learner with the most remarkable ability I have ever worked with. It has been a pleasure and an honor to serve as his mentor for these past 16 years. We treated many patients as a team, but some cases are especially memorable. I remember a 26-year- older woman with glaucoma. On her first visit, her left eye was already NLP (no light perception=blind). Her glaucoma in her other eye was refractory. Yumiko wanted to spare her sight, and I thought she needed Tube-Shunt, which had not yet been approved for use in Japan. ____ went that extra mile, collecting information pertinent to the new technique and assisting me with the surgery. He was tireless, determined, and successful at getting the necessary, special approval from the Ethics Committee of our hospital. It was the first Tube-shunt surgery in the hospital, successfully controlling the patient’s interocular pressure. Another of my most vibrant memories of a patient we cared for was a 64-year-old female with Primary extranodal NK-T cell interocular lymphoma (sporadic). When I saw her for the first time, she had been treated for acute retinal necrosis and was in danger of losing trust in her physicians because they seemed to her to be unable to help her. I will never forget how ____ bonded with this patient, working to strengthen her morale, winning back her confidence, and his tireless consultation with ____ loves a challenge, and the fact that this patient was stabilized speaks volumes about his tenacity. Dr. ____ is exceptionally skilled at cataract and Glaucoma surgery (Trabeculectomy, Trabeculectomy, etc.). I can assure you that ____ has much to offer to your program, particularly concerning cataracts and Glaucoma. It would be a privilege to provide you with further information concerning Dr. _____. • Fellowship Cardiology Personal Statement

The first in my family to go to medical school, my passion for medicine seemed to come naturally to me, the focus or path I have long admired and seen as an incredibly noble profession. I entered medical school utterly open to possibilities and dedicated to absorbing everything, as much as possible, about all areas of medicine. During my rotations in Internal Medicine at the University of Puerto Rico, the finest on the island, I gravitated toward the heart disease patients I had the opportunity to get to know and help care for. Thus, early on, I recognized a growing affinity with the human heart and the medical specialty of Cardiology. For this reason, I have dedicated my professional life to researching and practicing cardiology. Thus, I hope to complete a fellowship program in General Cardiology at your distinguished institution. I first told my friends that I wanted to develop a specialization in Sports Medicine primarily because I was an athlete. There were doctors in this area who I looked up to as especially outstanding role models. It was a special honor to be able to shadow several of them, admiring their skill at physical examination and vast medical knowledge. Soon, however, the more I learned about medicine, the more critically ill patients rather than sports injuries became the center of my world. Initially, I looked forward to doing trauma surgery, but my hopes and dreams for the future found a new critical mass in Critical Care Medicine. Once I experienced cardiology as an internal medicine resident, for me, the cardiologist performed the most special procedures and interventions. I very much admire their finesse. During my internal medicine training, I was thrilled to gain exposure to various heart disease patients, each facing their unique challenges. There are numerous reasons why I especially love cardiology, and I am delighted to have chosen this field for my lifetime focus on the practice of medicine. From my experience, one of the most enticing aspects of general cardiology is the clinical reach of the specialty. Despite the remarkable technological advancements, it preserves a clinical ‘old-school’ feel. As a cardiologist, you maintain intimate and long-standing interactions with patients. You must interview patients carefully and thoroughly about their issues and challenges, do a thorough physical exam, and design customized patient care approaches. I have taken great care and invested tremendous energy in developing the cognitive and technical skills that are the foundation of outstanding performance, especially concerning imaging modalities and interventional procedures, to enhance patient care. I have also enjoyed elective rotations in Emergency Medicine, where I became adept at the bedside use of ultrasound as an expansion of the physical exam. I also completed an elective course in interventional radiology, in which I learned a great deal about vascular access procedures, indications, careful planning for complex systems, and patient safety. I am eager to learn as much as possible about general cardiology care. I look forward to getting board certified in echocardiography, vascular ultrasound, and nuclear imaging and learning a great deal about general cardiology due to extensive training and intensive exposure. I look forward to lifetime education in interventional cardiology, involving cardiac and vascular interventions, resolving structural heart interventions, and resolving problematic diagnostic dilemmas that arise when answers are not apparent through clinical examination and noninvasive testing. I have read incredibly widely in Cardiology, especially hemodynamics cases and the Cath lab with many insightful discussions with attending cardiologists. 6 Now thirty-one, I am a competitive triathlon athlete, and a devoted doctor focused on discipline, hard work, organization, and balance. I had to work through college to get to medical school, which was quite a challenge, but the hardships I endured have fortified me each turn to renew my vow to give my all to Cardiology. In med school, I learned the value of vocation, the importance of loving what you do professionally, and how this impacts your patients. During my coronary critical care unit rotations, I oversaw many acutely ill patients - as an internal medicine resident, often requiring prompt interventions for infarcts, infections, shock, etc. I became skilled at catheters and hemodynamic monitoring, in particular. I keenly look forward to having an opportunity to demonstrate my prowess in various areas closely related to Cardiology. I could not feel more called to the prospect of advanced training in multiple imaging modalities such as echocardiography, vascular ultrasound, and cardiac CT and MRI. Thank you for considering my application. Fellowship Cardiology Personal Statement #cardiology #fellowship #personalstatement #athelete #veterans #samples #edit #service #help

  • MPA Master’s Degree in Public Administration Purpose, Guatemalan

I hope to earn a master's degree in public administration at XXXX University, which is within 10 minutes of my house. It is also close to the building that houses the City of Los Angeles operations. Since I hope to work for the City of Los Angeles after earning my MPA Degree, XXU is my ideal choice among MPA programs. I was born in California to parents who migrated from Guatemala. My parents tried, but they did not have the resources or academic background to be able to help prepare me for college. I did not have the luxury of attending an SAT prep course, ACT prep course, or top schools that challenged me in my preparation for college, nor anyone with whom to share the experience of selecting and applying to universities. I don't blame my parents, who always did their best with what little they had to work with. But I sometimes wonder how far I might have gotten professionally if I had had access to guidance and resources to prepare me straight out of high school. For the past three years, I have been fully immersed in ‘immigrant rights’ from various disciplines, primarily but not limited to Political Science. I am preparing to submit the research I have already completed for publication. I hope to eventually build a career that will provide me with the most significant impact on progressive legislation and social policy. I want to challenge myself to advocate for the rights of vulnerable members of my community. I have the skillset and drive to support, research, and publish in the defense of vulnerable communities. I want to learn to run some of the operations of a city the size of LA, my home. Near me, how to successfully negotiate, advocate, and work with city officials to ensure the rights of those in our community are recognized. Some individuals love living in a city, and others are driven to contribute to the operations needed to keep it functioning. I want to become an essential player in the processes of LA and, in this way, maximize my contribution to my community. I have recently come to see being a child of immigrant parents as something empowering rather than representing any disadvantage. It is one of my significant advantages for seeking to fulfill the role I want to play. I have learned a great deal by having to navigate the educational system on my own. Lessons taught by my parents, like determination, sacrifice, and hard work, things that can't be taught in textbooks, have been the driving force to get me where I want to go. The education system was not created with me in mind, but I worked extra hard to compensate. Acceptance into the MPA program will enable and inspire the fulfillment of my dreams. The intersection between legislation and local government operations is the niche that I hope to explore fully in your program and the area where I most hope to distinguish myself as a graduate student at XXU. I seek the most understanding possible concerning how legislation arises on the federal level and its impact on local governments. I love singing, teaching children and teens at church, and keeping up with politics. Thank you for considering my application. • Real Estate Master's Personal Purpose Statement, African, MENA, Dubai

XXXX University’s Master of Professional Studies in Real Estate is my first choice among graduate programs because it represents the most solid foundation and thoroughgoing immersion experience possible in the areas of Real Estate Studies. I seek the total level of expertise. At XXXX, I will be given advanced preparation that will enable and inspire me to excel with the flexibility that I crave, able to compete in any real estate market. I crave a blend of case studies and practical, hands-on application of what I am learning, as XXXX makes possible. A Nigerian woman who has lived in five major cities, including London, New York, Dubai, Lagos, and now Washington D.C., my fascination for real estate has followed me at every step, and I have been most attentive to business and real estate developments for some time now: reading widely in this area since adolescence. Having recently earned my bachelor's degree in international business and real Estate at the XXXX School of Business, I have fallen in love with D.C. and hope to be able to stay here for graduate school as well. I feel strongly that studying Real Estate at XXXX has provided me with a solid academic foundation for studying Real Estate at the graduate level. I have demonstrated my ability to succeed in courses at the graduate level. I am incredibly well-versed in Finance and hope to continue to make strides in this special sub-area of our field. The pandemic was already on the horizon as I finished my undergraduate coursework. It provided the impetus for a wave of creative thinking, some of which I have been able to translate into compelling theoretical reflection on the challenges presented to the world financial system by this unprecedented crisis, especially for Africa and, most specifically, for Nigeria, the land of my family and cultural origins. As I grew up in Dubai, I witnessed first-hand and up-close a city undergoing rapid, unprecedented development at lightning speed. This was the original spark of my passion for Real Estate; mesmerized and enamored with the vast structures around me, some of the tallest and most sophisticated buildings. During these formative years, when I was not in the UAE, I was in the UK, where I also took note of developments in real estate finance and markets. I look forward to helping design real estate development models specifically tailored to the needs of developing countries. I have always felt a strong connection to Nigeria since it is home to my family, and I hope to contribute to essential improvements in standards of living in Africa especially Nigeria, where there is an explosive demand for infrastructure, basic services, and housing in ever-expanding urban centers. Nigeria is one of the most densely populated countries in the world. Africa faces challenges for generations to come that are overwhelming. The real estate professional will be charged with finding answers to thorny questions as the dark clouds on the horizon of our world economy become increasingly felt. I want to stand up and do what I can to soften the blow, especially for those I identify as my people. My experience at the U.S. Department of Commerce, serving as an International Trade Assistant, allowed me to work with trade professionals from over one hundred countries, helping small-to-medium-sized U.S. companies get started with the exportation process and eventually increase sales to new global markets. I was explicitly tasked with Market Intelligence and Business Matchmaking in the MENA (Middle East North Africa) region. I seek a lifetime specialization as a global finance professional in this area. This position helped me better appreciate the importance of understanding clients' unique needs, working collaboratively within a team, and communicating ideas effectively. Currently working for a boutique commercial real estate consultancy firm, the XXXX Group International, I fully understand the benefits and challenges of being an entrepreneur. As an analyst, I drafted a pitchbook for a real estate fund managed by Stoddard Group to be presented to potential investors. I have communicated with crucial development finance institutions to secure project financing in emerging markets like India, Cambodia, and Turkey. I have been enjoying many opportunities to witness buy-side transactions and working closely with our corporate client to identify critical risks and opportunities in the acquisition, analyzing financial track records and the projected performance of firms. XXXX University is a natural choice for me since it has one of the most extensive real estate programs in the D.C. area and is one of the finest in the country. I hope to become part of a broad network of partner organizations and professional groups, taking full advantage of opportunities for mentoring, internships, and additional resources that will help me connect. I appreciate how the diversity of the student body at XXXX contributes to an enriching and engaging classroom experience, and I thank you for considering my application to Real Estate at XXXX. • Personal Statement for Visa Extension, Indian Medical Doctor

My name is Dr. XXXX, a doctor from India. I write the following in support of my application to extend my visa so that I might continue working as a medical doctor and medical investigator in the United States of America. I currently serve as an Assistant Professor in the Division of Nephrology in our Transt Nephr pantology section for the Department of Internal medicine at XXXX University in XXXX, Ohio. I completed a Transplant Nephrology Fellowship at OSU (2017-2018), following a Nephrology fellowship at XXXX University (2015-2017) and an IM residency at XXXX Hospital. I also had the profound privilege of serving as a Clinical Instructor in the Division of Transplant Nephrology at XXXX throughout 2018. My colleagues and mentors always encourage me, suggesting that my research and practice here in America are essential to advancing research into diseases of the kidneys, especially in medical machine learning and organ transplantation. I did exceptionally well on the USMLEs, completed a research course at the Harvard Medical School, graduated with a 91% percentile, among the top five in the class, and then became a senior teaching assistant at Harvard for four years. Participating in numerous studies, my efforts have included research for the National Institute of Health, grant proposal writing, institutional review board (I.R.B.) applications, and budget preparation for multiple institutions. Co-authoring five research papers along with book chapters on newer pharmaceutical agents for the care of patients with angina, heart attack, atrial fibrillation, and other heart-related conditions, I also became certified as an angiography reader in my lab and experienced in the assessment of acute lesions in the blood vessels of the heart. Incredibly well-versed in the impact of diabetes on heart attacks, I have studied the use of insulin pumps for type 2 diabetes with intensity. Immensely proud of the fact that our work was successful at convincing insurance companies to cover the insulin pump for type 2 diabetes patients as well; I have presented on this subject as a podium oral presentation in Stockholm, Sweden, as well as the European Association for the Study of Diabetes, E.A.S.D. My work has received extensive media coverage and has been published in Business Standard, Medscape, Medical Dialogues, Diabetes.co.uk, Healthsite.com, and the Economic Times. I have continued my fight against diabetes during my fellowship in transplant nephrology fellowship, and now as an assistant professor at XXXX University, where I pay incredibly close attention to the relationship between diabetes in the case of solid organ transplants (Kidney, kidney-pancreas, lung, liver, heart transplants). I have presented my research at international and national conferences, including the American Transplant Congress, Boston, 2019, and ENDO, 2019, in New Orleans. I have contributed extensively to the Wiki Doc 'The Living Textbook of Medicine', providing up-to-date medical information, serving as associate editor-in-chief for Wiki Doc since 2011, editing a vast amount of material, and serving as director of recruitment for Wiki Doc. I study deep learning algorithms for disease risk assessment. I have amassed a massive dataset of renal fibrosis and advanced machine-learning techniques with a collaborator from Boston University/Massachusetts Institute of Technology. It pleases me to serve alongside a tiny group of elite researchers who have worked on artificial intelligence (machine learning techniques) and developed an essential tool for predicting future renal survival. In my research into the long-term effects of metabolic syndrome concerning diabetes, obesity, cancer, and the survival of transplant patients, my retrospective studies on the efficacy and safety of different diabetic agents in transplant explore the goodwill of these agents in the transplant population; thereby increasing the confidence of the transplant providers in using these agents. My research focuses on the long-term impact on the kidneys of organ transplants, especially the lung. I study epidemiological databases to delineate the etiology of increased renal failure in the lung transplant population and use artificial intelligence to predict renal survival. As medical machine learning research continues to advance, our field of medicine needs the vision and expertise of those with extensive experience in these areas, leading the search for novel applications that will change how we live. There is an acute shortage of transplant nephrologists in the US to meet the needs of thirty-seven million patients with kidney disease. A kidney transplant is the only modality that has been shown to increase survival rates among those with failing kidneys. We have less than one thousand transplant nephrologists in the country to care for an ever-growing population of transplanted patients. Even before COVID-19, we were already confronting an ‘epidemic’ of chronic kidney failure, and our current administration has identified kidney transplantation as its top priority for action. I was selected from among many candidates to serve as an Assistant Professor of Transplant Nephrology based on my stellar record of accomplishment. Actively involved in the selection process of potential kidney/kidney-pancreas/islet-cell future transplant candidates, my role also entails but is not limited to providing exceptional clinical care to post-transplant patients (kidney, pancreas, kidney-pancreas), offering consultation services to critically ill patients with other solid organ transplants and kidney-related complications (heart, liver, lung, bone marrow). I play an especially critical role in 'high-risk transplant patients' decision-making, paying close attention to our medically and socially complicated cases. I contribute to policymaking concerning our transplant patients with immunosuppression regimens, viral prevention, and our efforts to increase access to kidneys. I also manage patients with a wide variety of kidney disorders resulting from injury and chronic disease, dialysis, kidney stones, hypertension, and renal cancer, acting as a bridge for patients with failing kidney transplants and facilitating the process of re-enlistment for a second transplant. Thank you for considering my application. Personal Statement for Visa Extension #personalstatement #visa #medicaldoctor #writing #editing #service #samples #professional

Dr. XXXX is accustomed to and at his best in a stressful, highly energetic environment. He has continued to develop essential teamwork skills, leadership, problem-solving, and time and workload management during his time with us. The fact that Dr. XXXX went on to earn a Ph.D. degree in Medicine focused on Nephrology is evident in how he religiously stays up to date with the literature, not only concerning Nephrology but in terms of the breadth of issues and challenges in Internal Medicine. Dr. XXXX holds enormous promise for both practice and clinical research. He became especially adept at critically analyzing and revising several Japanese clinical guidelines. He has conducted extensive epidemiological research at the University of ____, participated in several NIH-funded projects, and published several papers as the first author in prestigious, peer-reviewed, subspecialty journals. For all the above reasons, and others too numerous to mention, I could not recommend Dr. XXXX more highly for a position with a residency program in Internal Medicine. I would be most happy to provide you with further information concerning his application process or credentials and preparedness for excellence in your program. Sincerely, Internal Medicine Residency Letter of Recommendation #lor #IM #internalmedicine #letterofrecommendation #samples #service #writing #editing

  • BA Degree in General Studies, Visual Artist, New York

The undergraduate degree program in General Studies at XXXX University is my ideal program for several reasons, which I outline in what follows. I am a non-traditional student – now 31 - with an international background; I am passionate about celebrating diversity in Visual Arts and New York City. A working visual artist who plans to study part-time after earning my BA at Columbia, I hope to go on to earn an MFA Degree and devote myself to reinventing and re-defining my career as a visual artist for the balance of my professional lifetime, dedicated to lifelong learning and the constant adaptation of new ideas and the integration of global influences. Since early adolescence, I have daydreamed about becoming recognized as a successful visual artist with shows/exhibits and making short films. I want to touch people’s hearts and help make the world a more human place for all of us to live through my art, more inclusive and tolerant, and a kinder and gentler society for the least fortunate. I want to increasingly learn to see and appreciate beauty as it could be. Currently, I am working on two short films and several sculptures. I hope to continue in both areas throughout my career in visual art and venture into the entire understanding and appreciation possible of multimedia efforts related to film and sculpture. My mother and I came to the USA as refugees from Donetsk, Ukraine, when I was a baby in 1992. My father had passed away from a heart attack a few years prior, which, to hear my mother tell it, made life much harder in many ways, especially economically. We landed in Seattle, WA, and, after a series of short-term rented rooms, we eventually settled into a housing authority complex in Vancouver, WA, where I spent most of my young life. I spent most of my time at home alone, with my mother juggling day and night jobs to make ends meet. Our struggle helped me grow strong and independent early on, laying the foundation for giving my all to my career in the future. With the sophisticated, liberal, and cosmopolitan environment and climate, the academic community at Columbia is one of the most enlightened places to be in the city, I crave the company of students and teachers alike at Columbia from all over the world. In addition to Ukrainian, I speak, read, and write Russian fluently and am fully fluent in Spanish in addition to Ukrainian . I communicate well in German as well. Having spent significant and extensive time in Europe and the USA, I think of the globe as my home, and I adore visual art with global themes . As a child, I often drew for hours, and I always had a camera in my hand. I even won a drawing contest in our elementary school's gallery, and I was frequently asked to draw flyers for the school. I wanted to attend the Vancouver School of Arts and Academics dance classes to learn to play musical instruments since I learned about their existence. The day I knew I had been waitlisted was one of the saddest days. However, I excelled at our local middle school , particularly in math. For my university studies, I connected with an aunt who lived in Arizona and offered me a room rent-free in exchange for helping with her new baby. She did not live far from Arizona State University; I applied to ASU and was accepted. Despite having wide-ranging interests that included quantum physics, consciousness, and spirituality, I began studying for a career in accounting, prioritizing financial stability. My efforts at ASU ended by the end of the first semester; however, when my mom lost her job and found herself homeless in Seattle, I had no choice but to go home and help her. I helped my mother to find a new job and apartment. The closest state university with a good business school was Portland State University, and I quickly applied for the next Winter quarter. I started working part-time to support myself even during my full-time studies at PSU. There were times when I was working two part-time jobs. I took classes outside my major to see if I wanted to pursue other fields, but I decided to stick with accounting after getting a paid accounting internship . After six months of training, they quickly hired me on the team, providing me with the financial flexibility to continue my studies, and I began to explore other options. I started moonlighting with a film crew in Portland, Oregon, a collective mix of locals involved in television, film production, photography, and the music industry. I learned the ropes of video production and how to use camera gear. Soon, I produced content and directed video shoots. This was the start of my career in photography and video production. Working with this crew inspired me to return to photography. Between my desk job and working with this film crew, I was able to rent a studio and started working on my portfolio. I connected with modeling agencies in Portland and Seattle and started shooting for start-ups, mostly taking band photos. Some of this work was published in the local newspapers and featured in music publications. Next, I accepted an opportunity to work as an in-house photographer for a local, fashionable shoe brand . This was extremely exciting for me at the time because I would be managing a photo studio and career-advancing, creating my content with the creative team. I left my accounting job, put my studies on hold, and started working full-time with the shoe company. I decided to relocate to NYC and quickly found a full-time job working as a studio manager for a midtown photography studio. I started working with model agencies in the city and meeting many great people to collaborate with. My photography work grew more robust , and I enhanced it with better models, makeup, clothing, and production. I started picking up commissioned editorials for publications and working on my creative photo and video projects. After networking and meeting people in the fashion and art industry, I took on a position with a younger and reputable fashion publication as a Photo and Art Editor; I commissioned shoots, managed interns, and conducted/shot studio visits. Soon, I could go freelance, and my work and client base has evolved and grown over the last five years, working as an independent producer, photographer, videographer, and production manager for many different projects and jobs. I began working with various galleries and artists, shooting installations, and collaborating. Most recently, I have completed one short film I produced that will be submitted to festivals around the globe this year and another short film that was part of an artist’s show at the Swiss Institute. At XXXX, I hope to have the opportunity to push my creative tone. I want to expand the depth and complexity of my work and learn how to think increasingly critically with a solid base in art theory. My work's depth and complexity and want. My career has been preparation for what is now only a few years away; obtaining a bachelor's degree in visual art. Now that I have more knowledge of what direction I want to head in, with specific interests, I can return to school with the security and flexibility I have now earned as a freelancer. I have two friends who have attained a BA/BFA in Visual Arts at XXXX. They have always spoken very highly of the Visual Arts Department. My friend is starting his Ph.D. program at XXXX in Art History this Fall. He has also shared how excellent the art program is and how vibrant the studio community is. I appreciate how the Visual Art Program at XXXX balances practical courses with critical theory. Students are encouraged to pursue multiple mediums/studies; painting, sculpture, printmaking, film, philosophy, and art history at XXXX. In high school, I volunteered at homeless shelters and gathered donations around town for the homeless. In the future, I hope to return to helping the homeless with my visual art, as I see them as an integral part of the city I have come to love. Thank you for considering my application to General Studies with a focus on the Visual Arts at XXXX.
