SLP Speech Language Pathology Master's, Saudi Arabian Woman, Advancing the Profession in the KSW

Updated: Jan 23

My experience has provided me with a clear sense of mission and devotion to service as an SLP. I love being an SLP, and that drives me forward to achieve my goals. I hope very much to be accepted to your especially distinguished and competitive program to have a chance to demonstrate my capacity to excel. I am confident that I have the academic background and ability, relevant experience, knowledge, and personal attributes that will help me to succeed in your MedSLP Program at the University of Washington, especially my great passion for studying in the area of Speech and Communication Disorders - to prepare me for a professional lifetime of helping others.

There is a great need for well-trained SLP professionals in my country, Saudi Arabia, and I want to be highly effective at helping those in greatest need of my assistance. I can think of no more noble work than assisting people in communicating, especially children with development issues. I keenly look forward to developing evidence-based, structured speech & language rehabilitation programs - particularly for neuro cases that can be implemented in rehab and acute settings. I could not be more excited by the prospect of training clinicians, interns, and students. I adore teaching practical things and want to work to increase my ability and awareness in my community of the importance of SLP. After completing your program, my long-term goal is to help as many people as possible to overcome swallowing disorders, eventually establishing specialized swallowing centers that can deal effectively with the challenges presented by patients with severe neurological disorders and diseases. I want to be a part of the educational process, working to greatly heighten the reach and efficaciousness of MedSLP as a field in the KSA.
