XXXX University is my first choice for graduate school in Finance for several reasons, including London's vast intellectual and multicultural resources. Most of all, I crave the rigorous education that stands behind your world-class reputation. It would be a special honor for me to become a student of Professor XXXX, who I listened to with great interest when he spoke at Tsinghua University in China this past April of 2017. I could not have been more favorably impressed with the sophistication of his articulation of equilibrium theory and its relationship to product complexity and financial markets, areas to which I look forward to devoting a great deal of attention.
Born and raised in Beijing, China, I could not be more highly motivated to achieve excellence in Finance. This field has been making critically essential advances over the last decade in China, alongside and supporting the Chinese economy. I see myself preparing for a lifetime of service to my country of origin in support of its complex economic relationships with the rest of the world. I have already studied in London for a year and a half, earning my first master's degree, the MSc in Computer Science. Since then, I returned to China, where I have been engaged in innovative technological advancement in the areas most relevant to Finance. I now hope to earn my second master's degree in the same marvelous city with so much to offer the student searching for the finest and most international education in Finance available on the planet.
From 2014 through 2018, I worked for a patent agency, dealing with clients operating in financial services technology. Since then, I have worked as an industry analyst at XXXX University, focusing on FinTech. I investigated industry trends, analyzed the market, and spent a lot of time listening to people in this industry, ideas, and opinions. Heavily engaged in Fintech industrial research, I am keenly interested in fixed-income-related challenges and issues. Becoming a fixed-income analyst and trader is one of the career options I am exploring, taking advantage of my background in Mathematics, notably Computer Science.
I enjoy my full engagement in equity research, investigating the financial industry as well as individual companies. I worked as an industry analyst at XXXX University, focusing on FinTech. I plan to distinguish myself as a graduate student in Finance at XXU. After graduation, as I am interested in fixed-income-related financial initiatives, I plan to gain further experience serving as an analyst in a retail bank or an asset management firm.
I see myself eventually serving in a senior role in the corporate hierarchy, gradually climbing up the ladder of increasing responsibility in the company. I particularly look forward to serving as a portfolio manager, helping my clients think strategically for the long term, and putting everything I have learned as a graduate student and beyond to work on their behalf. At some point, I might work as a freelance financial analyst or consultant, depending on the circumstances and the opportunities. I particularly appreciate how Finance is a fast-developing industry that plays a significant role in preserving and advancing local and global society, serving the critical function of resource allocation. The rapid growth of the Chinese economy and marketplace has been stimulating, just like these moments of slowdown increase firms' strength characterize the present time.
For me, the Finance industry is about serving people, businesses, organizations, institutions, and individuals, helping them make wise investment decisions. I see this as contributing to my country and planetary society, more generally speaking, to economic growth and maintenance. Advancing cultural ties on an international level and commerce increases and, by extension, the economies in which those firms do business and make investments.
The celebration of diversity and the cultivation of international solidarity between Asian countries has been central to my intellectual and academic interests for some time now, and this is why I make an enormous investment of time and energy in learning Japanese and improving it to the level where I already meet the language requirement for most programs of advanced study in Japan. Still, XXU is my first choice. Being accepted to your innovative program would be the crowning honor of my academic life so far, and I will most definitely attend if selected.
I have embraced diversity and cultivated my multicultural understanding in a variety of places besides China and England, including Italy and Greece, Thailand, Hong Kong, Russia, Taiwan, and Japan. I am especially fond of Japanese drama and music.
